Problems with Chess for Android

Since some time I can´t install or deinstall engines. The app has all permissions but the “install engines is grayed out and if I push “deinstall ebgines (which is not grayed out), nothing happens. (On the other side loading and saving games works.)
I tried deinstalling and reinstalling the app, but this doesn`t help. It seems, that this has nothing to do with the app itselfe,  because on my tablet, everything works as it should.
My smartphoe is a Huawei p20 pro with the latest firmwareupdates (My tablet is a Huawei as well). Do you have any suggestions what can cause this issue, or what I can do to solve this?

Most time I´m using Certabodroid but sometimes, when I play with engines I´m using Chess for Android, as there is no takeback in Certabodroid. I´d like to install Stockfish 13 polyglott, as there is the option for opening books.......

UPDATE: It seems, that this is caused by new Android restrictions (in Android 10), and there is no solution for this......sad news. Hopefully take back will work in a new Certabodroid version.

Hi Julian,

As you already found out in our "UPDATE", this is indeed due to new restrictions, something that made me very sad myself. A bit more background can be found in this W^X violations thread on talkchess.
