What device to use with my board?

So, I bought a nice setup with board, DaVinci, bluetooth module, etc.

My question is: what is the best mobile device to complete my setup? I use both Lichess and chess.com, but mostly the former. I've been using my iPhone, but I want a separate, somewhat larger device (and it's been not-so-reliable on Lichess, but I haven't really troubleshooted).

Should I go with an iPad mini? Android tablet? If an Android device, please feel free to recommend something specific. I just want to be able to grab the bag and go anywhere with wifi and play!

Hello Fncll

Well not sure i understood correctly the setup you are looking for do you plan to use get an ipad to play on it or to use as remote desktop? Ideally we would need a dedicated app for ios which unfortunately do not have yet.

I think best solution can possibly be use a super compact PI without display which runs all our software and use any phone as display.

Maybe an idea

All the best

I'm simply looking for a setup that I can take to a friend's house or a coffee shop or a hotel room and RELIABLY play on lichess (and chess.com). I have both the BT module and the Pi I bought from you with the board.

You ask, "do you plan to use get an ipad to play on it" but that is exactly my question. It doesn't sound like an iPad is the way to go without the dedicated app?

I have to say, this is becoming an even more confusing and ever more frustrating experience. The board itself is wonderful. Everything about using it to connect to lichess has been painful and unreliable.

Hi Chris

Sorry forgot you had already the Pi ;-( and was not clear about your question. I thought you was asking to connect directly to Ipad which is not possible. Sorry it's becoming frustating experience but let me ask when you say everything to connect is unreliable can you  tell us which specific problem you face as the connection should work quite ok like on PC or Mac as software is the same. Is it specifically with Pi?  Also please feel free to pm me in case.

All the best
