Desktop on 2.9

I know I must be missing the obvious, but how to you get to the desktop on pi version 2.9? When I press on the logo, it shuts itself down. Not like pulling the power plug, but actually shuts down.

Hi David

Welcome to the forum the version 2.9 is bi dated one already, and yes when you shut down the software it will shutdown the system also.

If you have bit expertise with pi to access the desktop you shall log via ssh go in chess directory open file startchess.sh  and comment the last row adding # before sudo shutdown.

Once you reboot and close again it will just shutdown the software and you will go to desktop.

By the way David you may want to download and try the DaVinci image so you get latest software release for the Pi 😉
