I think you are using early version the 1.0 which had one resolution for small DaVinci screen please donwload the latest 3.0 Feb-2021 https://www.certabo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/DaVinci_3.0_Jan_2021_BT_MS.zip  which now have quite few resolutions up to 1920 So leave auto on screen.ini and will adapt to fit the screen.

This is nice ! What is the exact model of the screen? Some are capable of differents software resolution, that would explain it worked without fine tunnig.
