USB connection not recognised

Hi, I eventually managed to get the software to work by installing a slightly older version but my board is not being recognised by my laptop even though the driver installed correctly. My PC is showing an error saying that the USB connection malfunctioned and cannot be recognised when I connect the board...

The magnetic usb connector is reversible so you can plug both way  but for data transfer when you play the led on plug shall be up facing you.

Plugging 180° will just supply power but no data so you may get this message on PC.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your advise, I didn't know that! Have just tried with the led but it now just repeats the error "Socket closed ungracefully before: [Errno 1054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"...

Yes you are right we shall add this note to manual 🙂

I think this second is because you may had two sessions running, just close all software sessions and restart to flush usb just disconnect and reconnect. Also you can disconnect any time and reconnect the software will reconnect automatically.

No worries, I'm a little behind the times! I tried that and now getting "Value Error: unsupported pickle protocol: 3 [11732] Failed to execute script run". Thanks for your help! By the way, I am overwhelmed by the board quality - looks and feels absolutely terrific.

First of all thank you for appreciation!

Ok i think if you installed an older version on top of newest 3.7 this may cause some conflict, please uninstall all versions (eventually go to Programs directory and remove Certabo Chess installation directory if still there). Then install again the latest 3.7 only.

Hi Pietro,

Sorry about this but it's not recognising the board now. I get the error "Did not find serial port, make sure Certabo board is connected".

This was the error I got originally which made me try the older software/driver version...

Np but that is weird, it shall work very smoothly can i have a look remotely? there maybe a iusse with pc connection or serial conflict, can you please download  team viewer
