My personal "Angel White Royal"-Board 😉

Page 1 of 2Next

Hi all,

I wanna show you my personal "Angel White Royal"-Certabo Board.

First I was looking for nice pieces. It is not so easy to find special pieces in this size. At last I found very nice pieces I think at a store in India. The 2.6″ "Russian Zagreb" - Golden Rosewood & Boxwood. I removed the felt, put the Certabo chips on the bottom, colored the chips golden and put a thin leather on the chips.

Then I built a "house" for my Certabo Angel White Board. I don't really like all the cables etc. beside the board. So all cables, the power bank and the BT module find a place in the box. I can put it on a rotary plate, so its easy to turn the board fast. That's helpful while playing online and you don't know, which color you have to play.

The box is not really perfect, but beware: it's my first woodwork ever. So I'm very happy with it. Here you can see my "Royal"-Board 😉

Hello Tobias.

Very great job! Impressive!

How do you play? With the smartphone or the computer?

This is our club in lichess, have you already joined it?

Hope see you in the April tournament.

Hi Tobias

Excellent project and very well done as this was your first try at something like this, very impressed.

I modified one of my boards to incorporate a Windows 10 tablet which you can see on the following video.

Regards

Bryan

Hi Jaume,

I play on different ways:

on my Windows Surface I use the original Certabo software and LucasChess, hoping it will support bluetooth anytime. And BearChess from Lars is also running. Then I use the DaVinci. Smartphone (Certabodroid, Aarts Chess for Android) is also running.

While my chess play is very weak I like to play with different sources ;-). Actually the Surface is my favorite.

In the Lichess-Group I run under "Lindenwurm". Unfortunately I have to work on weekends often, so up to now I had no chance to play the tournaments. Hopefully I will manage it in April.

Hi Bryan,

thank you. I admired your work envious several times here and in other forums, e.g. the German "schachcomputer.info". So not least your work was stimulation for me to try something. Even if not in this professionality.

Hi Tobias

Very nice work and also the name Angel White Royal is great! Are you sure it's your first work 🙂

I also like to see that the board can be of inspiration and be part of such unique and personal pieces as you and Bryan did.

All the best

Pietro

Pietro

OK, I admit: as a young boy, over 45 years ago I once built a model aircraft. The „kleiner UHU“, it was a famous glider model from Graupner. But thats all 🤣🤣

Hi Kim ProX is running Windows 10 on Arm processor so it may run if they kept compatibility with older program and not require new version specific for that processor. If not the software could be recompliled for that processor. Same for the uci engines which may require to be compiled again. But best thing could be just run source code as many guys are doing on unix or pi for example so just need to install python3 and run the code. Apple did recently something similar and we  had to recompile the software for new Apple Silicon M1 processors which are also Arm based. The software for old Mac was kind of running but compatibility was not complete so we did recompile for it. But the source source code was running with no problem on new Apple M1 as once you install python3 they are not dependant on specific hardware or processor except for the BT support (but only for Mac as Apple because its policy at least for now BT not supported in Mac ...yet).

All the best

Pietro
